Happy Anniversary to Tanowitz Law! What is our present? A new addition to the firm!

When I started my firm 22 years ago, I did not realize it was just one day away from International Women’s Day.  Being a women owned business has been an amazing journey.  Last March, we added Joseph Sherman to our firm. Now this March, I can announce that we’re getting even stronger with the addition of Attorney Gwen Weisberg to the Tanowitz Law team.

Gwen joins us as Of Counsel. Prior to joining Tanowitz Law, Gwen worked for nearly two decades as a partner at a downtown firm. My relationship with Gwen, however, stretches back to 1993, when she was the sole female litigation associate, and I was a law clerk at that law firm during law school. Believe it or not, I took the Massachusetts Bar because of Gwen.  My husband found a job in upstate New York and when I told Gwen I was moving to New York and only taking the New York bar, she told me that she was sure I’d move back to the Boston area. She insisted that I take the Massachusetts bar. Essentially, she bribed me with a free place to stay and a meal after the exam. Me, a poor law student, took her up on the offer.

Needless to say, Gwen was right. I returned to the Boston area after just five months in New York.  Over the years, she’s been a mentor and confidant, and now I can once again call her a colleague. Not only is she a great attorney and a great friend, but she brings a wealth of experience in representing engineers, architects, contractors, and other professionals in the construction industry, enabling us to expand the services we offer our clients. Gwen will be continuing to represent her clients in contract negotiations and reviews, and will be handling litigation at the firm as well.

Gwen graduated from Temple University Law School and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she also serves on the alumni council.

Please join me in welcoming Gwen aboard!
